2019 Digital Ad Trends


On Tuesday morning Programmatic SSP PubMatic released a report on digital ad trends to watch in 2019.

Highlights include how mobile and video will continue to evolve in 2019, reshaping how brands reach customers.

Major points include:

  1. Local TV is expected to experience double digit decline in 2019 with a harsh loss of 14.7%

  2. Digital media will drive advertising growth increasing by 11.3%.

  3. Print will continue it’s harsh decline sinking 17.8%,

  4. Digital ad spend is projected to hit two-thirds of the market by 2022.

  5. Mobile digital ad spend continues to increase by approximately 71% of digital spend in 2019.

  6. In-app time spent is taking 3 hours and 8 minutes of consumer attention per day compared to mobile web’s 33 minutes.

  7. Video will constitute nearly two-thirds of non-social display ad spend. Video’s share of digital display has been rising for the past few years and is expected to continue its ascent through 2020. The big change is a substantial shift from desktop to mobile.
