How to learn lines

Learning lines for an audition can be tricky. For most actors learning lines is easy. For someone with dyslexia it’s tricky. You can sometimes gets the phrases wrong or start learning them the wrong way around - especially when the nerves hit home.

Here’s a little trick I use.

  1. Write the script out a few times using a black pen.

  2. Bounce a ball and say each line straight after each other (without emotion).

  3. Learn the lines so well you can say them back to front really quickly without having to think about them.

  4. Then learn the lines with an action in mind.

How do you learn lines for a speech or script?
